There may be an easy solution to funding your stairlift.
We work hard to keep the price of our stairlifts low whilst protecting quality and ensuring our customers get great after sales service. But sometimes even that’s not enough to make a stairlift easily affordable.
Yet a government scheme could help you with costs – or even cover the cost entirely.
It’s not just stairlifts either. If you’re disabled and need other adjustments to your home, the grant could also help you with things like ramps, widening doorways, making light and heating controls more accessible, and installing a downstairs bathroom.
Are you eligible?
The Disabled Facilities Grant is operated by your local council and funded by government. How much you can claim varies depending on your income and savings, and where you live. In England, a grant could be worth up to £30,000, far, far more than you’ll need to install a stairlift.
To be eligible you’ll need:
- To be (or someone living with you must be) disabled
- To own or rent the property
- To be planning to live in the property for at least 5 more years
In addition, the council will need to be satisfied that the stairlift or other adjustments you’re planning will meet your needs and that the work is reasonable in terms of practicality (ie can it be done) and cost.
It’s important that you don’t start work before your grant is approved.
How to apply
You apply via your local council. If you’re not sure who that is or where they are, you can find out here.
Once you’ve completed your application and you’ve had approval, get in touch with us and we’ll have your stairlift installed in next to no time. If you’re ready to start work, contact us now or call us on 0800 542 6045.
